Easton Arts Trail 2010 |
|
| The fourth Easton Arts Trail takes place in a diverse inner city neighbourhood, with residents opening the doors to their homes, gardens and studios, as well as arts, crafts and performance taking place in community centres, churches, cafes and pubs. For the first time this year, the Easton Arts Trail will have a theme – Arts & Flowers, and we will be inviting people to open their gardens, as well (or even instead) of opening their houses. We are looking to join forces with Eastside Roots (the Easton Community Garden Centre at Stapleton Road Railway Station) and local businesses to encourage art installations, activities and performances (supported by bursaries, subject to funding) in back gardens and maybe public spaces, plus a front garden competition, ‘Arts & Flowers Up Front’, that will hopefully encourage people to get involved who may not want to open up their houses. A front garden display could be anything from a window display to an arty vegetable patch – and doesn’t even have to include plants! For a chance to win some lovely prizes donated by local businesses, the cost of entry (including bunting or a sign and a mark on the map) is likely to be just £5. Applications to take part in this year's event are open to residents of Easton, just visit the website to download an application form from end of February and send it in before the April 2010 deadline. |
