Dorset Art Weeks 2010

A pioneer of open studio events in the South West, Dorset Art Weeks started in 1992 and has grown in size and success with each biennial event. DAW2008 had over 800 particpating artists at 340 venues. The next event will be held in 2010 from 29th May to 13th June and promises to be the best event yet. For the first time some schools will be taking part and there will also be a variety of other events across the county. We will keep you posted on this website. DORSET ART WEEKS is DORSET VISUAL ARTS main event and it encompasses a 16 day biennial Open Studios event that is intended to bring the public face to face with the artists and makers whilst exploring the delights of one of the country's most beautiful counties. The event is open to paid-up subscribers to Dorset Visual Arts and is a true celebration of the best visual arts that the county can offer. Event organised by:

Dorset Visual Arts (Dorset Art Weeks)

As a pioneer of open studios in the South West, Dorset Art Weeks has increased in size and success with each biennial event since the first in 1992.

In 2006, the old Dorset Art Weeks Association became Dorset Art Weeks Ltd, and a new charitable trust, Dorset Visual Arts was formed as the umbrella organisation. Recently the Limited Company name has been changed to Dorset Visual Arts (Promotions) Ltd. DVA Ltd will continue to organise the familiar Open Studios event and will also promote and support Dorset's artists and makers through other events and opportunities.

At the heart of DVA's aims lies education, including support for emerging artists, the provision of professional development opportunities for artists, and the provision of grants for educational and training purposes in the field of visual arts and crafts.
