National Campaign for the Arts Publishes General Election Advocacy Toolkit

In the run up to the General Election, candidates‚ policy priorities will be based on the concerns and opinions expressed by their local constituents. The National Campaign for the Arts (NCA) is urging members to use the Arts Manifesto as an advocacy tool to promote the importance of art in your constituency. Contacting local politicians can make a real difference, especially during election time, so please put pen to paper for the sake of the arts.

To help members to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the General Election, it has created an Advocacy Toolkit designed specifically for use in this election.

To view the toolkit, please go to http://www.artscampaign.org.uk

The NCA currently works across the arts and political sectors to:

* Provide a united voice for the arts, especially for arts organisations across the UK and for all artists, staff and volunteers who work in the arts
* Campaign for better access to the arts, so that everyone in the UK has opportunities to experience the arts and to take part
* Campaign for adequate and sustainable levels of resources and support for the arts.
